the Governance and Nomination Committee by Pitt Board of directors held a public meeting Friday morning to discuss resolutions to elect and re-elect members of the Board of Directors and revise some University regulations.
The committee voted to elect Mary Ellen Callahan and Louis Cestello as vice-chairs for a one-year term. Callahan and Cestello have served on the board since 2009 and 2017, respectively. Thomas richards will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors for a second year.
The committee also voted to elect Eva Tansky Blum, a former chair of the board of trustees, as the new director of the University at the UPMC Board of Directors.
In addition to electing the new leadership of the Board, the committee also voted in favor of revising Chapter II, Article IV, Section 4.6 of the University regulations. The proposed bylaw revisions would allow any school or regional campus in Pitt to ask the Provost to extend the total number of years a faculty member can serve without tenure in the tenure stream to a maximum of 10 years.
The committee also voted to elect and re-elect the members of the board of directors as trustees.
