SWCC and Chinese ministry develop new seawater desalination technology

RIYAD – The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) has embarked on the development of a new technology for seawater desalination in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources through its Research and Establishment Institute desalination technologies.

The cooperation includes the development of projects using reverse osmosis technology and evaporation technology, the adoption of a multi-stage effect method, in addition to projects related to future technologies, and the standardization of techniques of desalination.

This cooperation also contributes to strengthening relations between the Kingdom and China, and pushes for more communication through diplomatic channels and economic sectors in the fields of water desalination, in order to serve the development of technologies and increase the performance efficiency to double the achievements in the fields of reducing energy consumption and localizing modern technologies.

The set of joint ventures in the field of industry and desalination technologies will bridge the global gap in water scarcity and scarcity of its natural resources due to its high production cost and the need for capacity and innovative, innovative, economical and environmentally friendly technologies. with higher production capacities that meet the growing demand for water globally in conjunction to meet the population growth of recent years.

This Saudi-Chinese partnership is an extension of SWCC’s investment in its global leadership as the world’s largest producer of desalinated water using the most energy-efficient energy technology in its production system.

This sealed multiple international partnerships with a number of sectors and relevant authorities around the world, including the United States, France, Russia, Spain and Germany, which aimed to transform risks and challenges of locating cutting-edge technologies into competitive opportunities and advantages to improve the performance of the desalination industry and sustainability in the Kingdom and in the world in general – SPA
