RACC directors extend President Looney’s contract

Reading, PA – During an executive session of the Reading Area Community College (RACC) Board of Trustees meeting in June, the RACC Board of Trustees, in recognition of the exemplary work of RACC President Dr Susan D. Looney, unanimously recommended an extension beyond his current contract.
“Dr. Looney has done an outstanding job leading Reading Area Community College through his vision and strategic planning. His leadership has been a critical factor in maintaining a safe and effective learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.” said RACC Chairman of the Board, Mr. Gary Rightmire. “She has developed and led a team of dedicated faculty and staff who share her dedication and commitment to RACC students, and we feel extremely lucky to be able to offer her this extended contract and that she accepts it. “
Dr Looney, 6th President of Reading Area Community College, is in her third year in this position. She joined the college in 2014 as Dean of Education; becoming senior vice president of academic affairs / provost in 2015. Dr Looney received his AA from Brookdale Community College and went on to obtain a BS and an MBA in business administration from Monmouth University, a JD from Widener University School of Law and an Ed. RÉ. in Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southwestern University.
