Starting this fall, New York will look a little more like Paris.

Culturespaces, one of the leading private managers of museums and heritage sites in France, has just partnered with IMG to launch the first Culturespaces property in North America, which will transform the iconic Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank into a space for immersive art.

The Hall of Lights, named after Culturespaces’ famous Atelier des Lumières in Paris, will begin welcoming visitors on September 14. , which will host new exhibitions every 10 to 12 months. Through colorful projections and digital installations, the various exhibits will brighten up the walls and marble columns of the bank, creating beautiful effects of light and color.

Each art exhibit will be modeled after the works of a world-renowned artist, and in September a multi-sensory exhibit on Klimt, dubbed “Gustav Klimt: Gold in Motion,” will officially launch the new space. With 30-foot-tall images of Klimt’s most iconic works projected onto the walls of the bank and mapped to enhance both the art and features of the building, the experience will also speak to visitors’ ears. It is planned to feature a musical soundtrack to accompany guests during their visit.

Besides the main exhibition, visitors will also have the chance to marvel at the works of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian artist who was inspired by Klimt, among other experiences. A presentation on the history and design of the Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank will also be available to guests.

The Hall of Lights will open on September 14 at the Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank, located at 49 Chambers Street in Manhattan. Tickets are now available for purchase, and they start at $30 for adults and $15 for ages 5-16. Special pricing is available for seniors (65+) and military.
