New administrators join Aisling Center, Enniskillen
LE Center Aisling d’Enniskillen has welcomed three new charitable directors to its board of directors.
The new appointments – Deirdre Kane, Grainne Scott and Richard Smith – bring with them a wealth of experience and skills in mental health, domestic violence, community engagement, organizational management and more.
They all share the desire to contribute to the development of community-based mental health and counseling services; are keen to eliminate the stigma associated with poor mental health; and want to promote the development of good mental health, emotional well-being and building resilience.
A retired social worker and manager of the Mental Health Recovery Team, Deirdre is very knowledgeable about the work of the Aisling Center from a professional perspective and describes herself as having “a strong affinity with her goals and vision” .
Grainne, a former police officer, has extensive experience working in the community, including working with domestic violence, and as a family liaison for people experiencing sudden and traumatic grief.
Richard has extensive experience in industry and management, and is currently Managing Director of Huhtamaki Food Packaging, Lurgan. Richard has a keen interest in mental health, particularly eating disorders.
All three described themselves as both “honored” and “delighted” to have been appointed to the Aisling Center board.
Speaking on behalf of the Aisling Center, President Alison Annan said the appointment of new directors is part of the centre’s continued development to ensure the center continues to support the community, which, she added. , is “particularly important as we see an increase in mental health needs as we come out of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Alison added, “We are delighted to welcome our three new directors to the Board. Their experience and skills will significantly improve the organization as we move forward.”
