Ministry officials sanction more than 850 fines for Covid-19 violations

Doha: The designated authorities referred 861 people to the prosecution for non-compliance with the prevention and precautionary measures in place in the country to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Among them, 734 people were referred to the prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, 118 did not adhere to social distancing, and nine for not having installed the Ehteraz application on their mobile phones. .

All these offenders were referred to the prosecution.

So far, the ministry has referred thousands of people to the prosecution for violating Covid-19 precautionary measures in the country.

The measure is in accordance with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, the competent authorities referred several people to the prosecution for violating the preventive and conservatory measures of Covid-19 in force.

Designated authorities have called on the public to adhere to current precautionary and prevention decisions to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society.
