Former Downtown Lafayette Housing Savings Bank to Become One Acadiana’s New Headquarters – Developing Lafayette

One Acadiana, the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, and the region’s economic development organization are moving their headquarters from 804 E St. Mary Blvd in downtown Lafayette inside the former Home Savings Bank at 523 Jefferson Street.

The old bank building underwent a facade renovation at the height of the pandemic, which included fresh paint and beautiful new windows. One Acadiana plans to completely renovate the interior portion to better serve their needs and bring even more freshness to the downtown neighborhood.

“For the past seven years, one of One Acadiana’s areas of focus has been urban revitalization and catalyzing investment in the heart of our region. The opportunity to purchase a building in downtown Lafayette caught our attention at the perfect time – we have outgrown our current facilities and are more focused on growing a vibrant Acadiana,” said Troy Wayman , President and CEO of One Acadiana.

One Acadiana has become a big part of the business community and the community as a whole. Many of the new businesses we are enjoying in town that are expanding into the area have, in some way, been influenced by the work that One Acadiana is doing in the area.

“Thanks to the strong leadership of our Executive Committee and our Board of Directors, we were able to acquire the property. With guidance from two of our investors, we will perform due diligence on the facility and assess our next steps to renovate a space where we can continue our important work to impact regionally through programming, advocacy and economic development. led by businesses. in Acadian. We look forward to celebrating our new downtown ‘home’ with our investors, members and partners from across the region,” said Wayman.

We have tried to get tentative dates on the move, but haven’t received any details. Either way, good for One Acadiana! It’s nice to see that this space will be put to good use.
