Emporia City Commissioners have a busy Wednesday morning.

Commissioners have an action meeting adjourned at 9:30 am Commissioners could approve a $ 10,000 funding request from Halfway to Everywhere, money from the city’s transitional tourist tax fund. The commissioners could also authorize the sale of the former Dynamic Distribution facility to 3601 West Sixth. The potential buyer has not been announced.

Once this meeting is over, the Commissioners will proceed directly to their scheduled study meeting. Commissioners will continue their recent discussions on city code updates to bring electrically assisted scooters to the city, following last week’s decision to sign a memorandum of understanding with Bird Bikes in this regard.

Other business for the study meeting include an interlocal agreement for the city’s urban growth area, ongoing discussions of proposed stormwater improvements for the Becker Addition in northwest Emporia, a Updated water tap fee structure and a grant from the Kansas Parks and Recreation Association to build a fitness field in C of E Park.

The adjourned action meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and the study meeting follows immediately. Both are in the hall of the municipal court.
