Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will interact with all state education secretaries on May 17 and examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the education sector.
During the virtual meeting, the Minister will also discuss the promotion of online education and the implementation of the new education policy.
Sources further said this was the first virtual meeting of the Union Minister of Education with State Secretaries for Education after the second wave of COVID -19.
“Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will meet with almost all State Secretaries for Education on Monday. The main agenda of the meeting will be the COVID -19 pandemic and its impact on education, the promotion of online education, the implementation of the new education policy and the preparation made by ”, Ministry of Education sources told ANI.
According to sources, the Union Minister will also review the preparation made by the state education departments to deal with COVID-19 and how students can continue their online education despite the pandemic.
Following the second wave of COVID-19, the Union Ministry of Education canceled the class 10 CBSE board exam and postponed the class 12 CBSE board exam.
The ministry also postponed all higher education exams scheduled for May.
