MONSON, Mass. (WWLP) — Monson Savings Bank has made a generous donation to its hometown nonprofit, Travelnitch.

According to a press release sent to 22News from Travelnitch, they started in 2018 as a nonprofit online resource for families interested in virtual exploration. Their goal is to provide a digital alternative for children who may not have the chance to travel. In three years, Travelnitch has reached global audiences in more than 140 countries, and its goal this year is to entertain more than 40,000 visitors worldwide.

“Travelnitch is very grateful for the continued generosity of Monson Savings,” said Amanda Renna, Founder and CEO of Travelnitch. “They have always been a staunch supporter of our work, sponsoring past events and helping launch our World on Wheels. We are thrilled to receive this latest donation in support of our Virtual Adventures program.

Rebba said the donation from Monson Savings Bank will be used to strengthen the digital foundation on which they were built. The giveaway will be used to develop Postcard Pals, a program that invites children to virtually travel the world alongside Trek the Travelnitch cat.
