ChapCare provides comprehensive primary health care services including medical, dental and behavioral health services to nearly 16,000 patients per year. ChapCare also offers free assistance with health insurance enrollment through its Covered California Navigator grant. Their certified enrollment advisers help community members enroll in health insurance plans available under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Assembly member Chris Holden said:

ChapCare plays a vital role in making health services accessible to low-income community members. ChapCare is now a national model that has successfully demonstrated how a municipal public-private partnership can help transform the healthcare landscape of local communities.

“For over 23 years, ChapCare has responded strategically to meet the changing needs of the communities we serve,” said Margaret B. Martinez, MPH, CEO of ChapCare. “More recently, ChapCare quickly transformed its service delivery model during the COVID pandemic to safely deliver health services through telehealth, and launched COVID testing and immunization services in the communities we serve. We would like to thank Assembly Member Holden for this great honor, which recognizes not only our organization, but also our dedicated employees who enable us to serve the community every day.
