Bank of Singapore CEO Bahren Shaari to join NUS board
SINGAPORE – Top banker Bahren Shaari has been appointed to the board of trustees of the National University of Singapore (NUS) effective June 1.
The former NUS has been the Managing Director of the Bank of Singapore since 2015.
Previously, Mr. Bahren was Senior Managing Director of the bank and responsible for the global Southeast Asia market.
He is a member of the Council of Presidential Advisers and was awarded the Public Service Star Medal in 2018 and the Public Service Medal in 2008.
The Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore awarded him the Distinguished Fellow award in 2016. He has over 30 years of industry experience.
Mr. Bahren has also been a non-executive and independent director of Singapore Press Holdings since April 2012.
He joins 20 other members of the NUS Board of Trustees, which includes Goodwill Ambassador Chan Heng Chee and Executive Director of Pave Family Violence Service Center, Dr Sudha Nair.
